The extracts will be air-dried at room temperature in a dark room. A few extracts will then be ground into powder. Approximately 30 g of powdered sample will be boiled in 200 ml of water for 60 min. And then filtered through Whatman filter paper and then through a membrane filter. The filtrate will then be evaporated to dryness at room temperature in a constant air current and the product recorded as a percentage of the quantity in 30 g used. The dried extract will then be sterilized by for 12 hours before reconstituting it onto sterile nutrient agar.Experiment 2: Test bacterial strainsStrains of Escherichia coli will be obtained from Bio-resource Devel opment and Conservation Centre.
